Description of the work: The artwork depicts a medical provider repairing her heart with sutures and the resultant growth from her internal repair.
Medium: Embroidery on burlap canvas with black, green, and burgundy cotton thread and 19mm nylon monofilament suture.
Bio: Maansi Jayade is an M3 at HMSOM from Plainsboro, NJ interested in OB/Gyn and Emergency Medicine. She has been embroidering for years and credits her suturing skills to her embroidery. She is a former NYU graduate who enjoys jogging and reading fantasy (the more dragons involved, the better!).

Bio: Monisha Hanagal is currently a M2 interested in psychiatry and endocrinology. Raised in India, she returned to the USA to do her undergraduate major degree in Neuroscience and minor in Theatre from Lehigh University in Bethlehem, Pennsylvania. In her spare time, Monisha dabbles in video games, anime and art. She also enjoys sampling the area’s diverse food scene with friends and family and occasionally goes on hikes.
