Submitting to Ripple Magazine

Call for submissions!
Ripple Magazine invites members of all cohorts, as well as faculty and staff, to share their artistic passions through this digital multimedia platform. Ripple Magazine is HMSOM’s medical art magazine, founded by students and created in collaboration with the IHS Library. Through this celebration of the arts and medical humanities, we endeavor to cultivate stories that impact the way we practice medicine.

Our online publication opens the door to art forms that a physical magazine would exclude. Ripple Magazine welcomes all feasible submissions, including prose, poetry, visual and digital art, photography, videography, pottery, music, and more. Please share your talents, your stories, your dreams for the future in medical school and beyond!

The theme for this year’s publication is “Meditations on Growth.” We ask that submissions are broadly medically-themed or related to the medical school experience. Here are some questions you might like to meditate on, but by no means are you limited to these thought-starters:

  • What are some times you’ve stepped out of your comfort zone?
  • What does growth mean to you?
  • Does growth come in moments of comfort, discomfort, a mix of both?

Creators may enter multiple submissions. Please email hmsomripplemag@gmail.com to share submissions! Submissions are accepted on a rolling basis until May 1st. For further guidance, please reach out to Zephyr Hameem or Danielle Kong with any questions! We look forward to showcasing and celebrating the multitude of talents, voices, and experiences within Hackensack Meridian!
