Cherry Blossoms & Solar Eclipse by Anthony Peterson

Cherry Blossoms1 Cherry Blossoms 2

Cherry BlossomsCherry Blossoms

I travelled down to D.C. just to take pictures of the Cherry Blossoms this year, and was initially bummed to find out that it was going to be cloudy the whole time, thus taking away any possibility of getting sunrise or sunset pictures of the blossoms. When I got there, however, I found that instead of detracting from the images the clouds completed the color scheme, rendering the pictures almost pastel-like.

Solar EclipseEclipse

It was not a short trip driving all the way to Ohio just to see the total eclipse, but the experience was worth it. While these photos don't capture the feeling that came with midday becoming night, they seek to capture the details of the eclipse that can't be seen without a high magnification lens.

Description of the work: This contemplative canine posed stoically, staring off into the distance on a windy day in the Aran Islands. I think about this photo sometimes, wondering about my future. I don't feel alone though, just comfortable where I am, weathering the storm, and appreciating the occasional pat.
Bio: Tim is a third year medical student, golden retriever fanatic, and chess addict. He is pursuing emergency medicine and has a Twizzler dependency.
